Ahead of Formex 2026, Stockholmsmässan is proud to announce the eight nominees for the Formex Sustainability Award, recognising companies and designers who champion responsible, long-term approaches to materials, production, and circular design. The jury, comprised of sustainability and design experts Maria Soxbo, Maria Lagerman, Malin Jensen, Emma Olbers, and Daniel Svahn, evaluated submissions based on material selection, production methods, durability, circularity, and transparency.

This year's nominees are:

  • Qeenew – Upcycled home textiles transformed into handcrafted garments, combining minimal waste with durability and individuality.
  • MB Form – Hand-embroidered capes and vests made from decades-old Swedish wool and secondhand yarns, blending traditional craft with sustainability.
  • Gotland Garbage – KIR bowls and plates crafted from recycled marine and land-based plastics, designed to last over 200 years and be fully recyclable.
  • Flowerfield Creations – "Trees of Life" made from natural stones and reused copper wire, handmade to order with recyclability in mind.
  • Fabric Forest – Bark Rug woven from 100% paper yarn, producing 78% lower emissions than wool and fully biodegradable.
  • Rosa Räven – Gotland wool duvets sewn on a small scale with unbleached cotton, following a no-waste policy and offering a loaner service to extend product life.
  • PHOS LysLaboratorium – "Stillhed" meditation candles and holders made from untreated beeswax and natural clay, designed for reuse and reflection.
  • Pure Effect – Textile spray that refreshes fabrics using beneficial bacteria, reducing the need for washing and conserving water and energy.

Maria Soxbo, Chair of the jury, highlighted the trend toward reuse: "It is encouraging to see more companies finding ways to turn existing materials into new products. Production usually accounts for the largest share of climate impact, so these initiatives make a real difference."

The winner of the Formex Sustainability Award 2026 will be announced during the Formex press breakfast on 20 January 2026, and all nominees will be showcased in an exhibition at the entrance square during the fair from 20–22 January 2026.
