Peter Jelkeby will become the new Country Retail Manager and CSO of IKEA Germany on 1 January 2026, succeeding Walter Kadnar, who assumed leadership of IKEA Netherlands on 1 September 2025. Jelkeby currently leads IKEA UK & Ireland, where he has overseen the company's transformation into an omnichannel retailer.

Jelkeby joined IKEA in 1983 at its Gothenburg store and has held international roles in Moscow, Vietnam, and the UK, including Store Manager, Marketing and Sales Manager, and Deputy Country Manager. He also spent nine years at Clas Ohlson as Executive Vice President/COO and Acting CEO, and serves as Chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the UK.

Until he takes office, Sandra Stibale, Deputy Country Retail Manager, will oversee operations alongside the management team to ensure continuity. Mikael Palmquist, Retail Markets Manager at Ingka Group, welcomed Jelkeby's appointment, highlighting his international experience, strategic vision, and people-focused approach.
Jelkeby's leadership is expected to further strengthen IKEA Germany in the coming years.
