Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, said: 'Today, Messe Frankfurt is more stable and successful than ever before. The excellent financial results in 2024 reflect the Group's performance and proven strategic orientation, even under challenging market conditions. We have scope for financing our own investments and will make use of our growth opportunities accordingly.' Marzin further emphasised the strength of Messe Frankfurt's global events, stating, 'Our customers are building on personal interaction and remain networked internationally in spite of, and very much because of, the complex global economic situation.'
The Group's growth was driven by robust domestic sales of €432 million and international sales of €343 million, accounting for over 44 percent of total revenue. Messe Frankfurt hosted 348 events worldwide in 2024, drawing approximately 4.6 million visitors and more than 98,000 exhibitors across 153 trade fairs and exhibitions.
Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board, highlighted the continued upward trend: 'Our brands have raised the bar once again, and we are registering growth in the main key indicators. This is a very encouraging signal, for our customers, for our trade fairs, for the trade fair sector in general and, above all, for the economy as a whole.'
Looking ahead, Messe Frankfurt expects to maintain its positive momentum in 2025. Marzin commented: 'The trade fair sector is a growth industry in the long term, not in spite of the changes in the international markets but rather because of them. Messe Frankfurt aims to continue reinforcing its position as a global sector player.'
The company's strategy focuses on four pillars: core business growth, digital and sustainable transformation, and fostering a cooperative, agile corporate culture. Braun noted the Group's expanding international footprint, with events at around 60 global locations, supported by 28 subsidiaries and over 50 sales partners. New ventures include launching the Salon du Chocolat in New York in 2026 and expanding Automechanika to Jakarta.
Messe Frankfurt's ongoing investments and portfolio diversification position it as a key driver in Europe's B2B event and trade fair landscape, particularly relevant for the interior, furniture, and consumer goods sectors.
