Even price increases failed to halt the downturn in the market for sanitary ceramics, sanitary fittings, shower trays, and shower drains last year. According to the latest BRANCHENRADAR Sanitary Equipment in Austria, manufacturer revenues fell by 4.4 percent year-on-year to a total of €170.3 million in 2024. Inflation was between two and four percent.
'The losses were distributed almost equally between new and replacement equipment, but came primarily from the residential sector,' analyses study author Aferdita Bogdanovic. Business in non-residential construction remained largely stable. Sales of sanitary fittings amounted to €93.3 million (-5.2% year-on-year) last year, while sales of sanitary ceramics totaled €47.0 million (-4.5% year-on-year), and shower trays and shower drains totalled €30.0 million (-2.0% year-on-year).
