Homeware sales continued their upward trend on the high street, marking a third consecutive week of growth. According to BDO's High Street Sales Tracker for the week ending 15 June 2025, total like-for-like (LFL) homewares sales rose by 8.04%, outperforming all other categories. This follows a solid base of 6.33% growth during the same week last year.

In-store homeware sales climbed 8.97%, while non-store sales increased by 9.70%, the strongest online result since February. Overall, total LFL sales across all categories rose 2.67%.
Broader in-store LFL sales were up 1.68%, while non-store LFL sales surged 18.21%, driven by strong performance in fashion and lifestyle segments.
Despite strong sales figures, footfall across all retail destinations declined by 4.0% year-on-year. High streets were most affected, down 6.3%, with retail park and shopping centre visits falling 1.3% and 1.8% respectively.
BDO attributed these trends in part to "unseasonably cool and wet conditions", contrasting sharply with the warm, sunny weather experienced during the same week in 2024.
While poor weather dampened foot traffic, strong online and in-store homeware sales indicate resilient consumer demand in this category.
