Furniture, alongside TVs and household appliances, saw a remarkable 18.9% rise in sales compared to May 2024. Other notable increases included motor vehicles and parts (15.7%) and pharmaceuticals and cosmetics (6.0%). Sales of fuels and food products also recorded modest growth, while the "other" category declined by 10.8%.
Online retail sales increased by 6.2% year-on-year, with online sales in total retail rising slightly from 8.6% to 8.8%. Online sales shares notably increased in textiles, clothing, and footwear (from 22.5% to 23.7%) and in furniture and consumer electronics (from 16.4% to 17.3%). However, the share of online sales in press and books declined.
This growth underscores a robust demand for furniture amid a mixed retail environment, highlighting the sector's resilience in Poland's evolving market.
