The 2025 edition of spoga+gafa opens today, welcoming stakeholders from across the garden lifestyle and outdoor living sectors. The international trade fair runs from 24 to 26 June at Koelnmesse in Cologne (Germany), with this year's central theme set under the banner of "Design Gardens."

Organisers expect attendance from a wide spectrum of professionals, including outdoor furniture brands, BBQ equipment suppliers, plant and décor manufacturers, and trade buyers from across Europe and beyond. The event continues to position itself as a key platform for seasonal product launches, trend insights, and industry dialogue.

Today, on the opening day, the curated programme features multiple formats, including product presentations, lectures, guided tours, and panel discussions across thematic stages.

At the garden unique Bistro, trade visitors can attend talks on "Furniture and decoration trends 2025/2026," followed by a tour led by trend researcher Frank Reinhardt. A second session led by Leif Hellerbach addresses the implementation of garden design principles in outdoor living, aligning with the fair's 2025 theme.

Over at the Green Stage, keynotes and panel discussions will tackle business strategies and design thinking. Highlights include "The spoga+gafa Interview" with broadcaster Judith Rakers, and a panel titled "Of bees and flowers or what design brings to the garden (Business)," moderated by Nadine Kümmel. Another panel, "Does AI help when staff are scarce?" will see contributions from Lutz Schnalke, Franc Sonnemans, and Claudia Kordes.

At Outdoor Kitchen World, the programme includes live sessions such as "Where steaks are born – Meat carving show" with Dirk Ludwig and a presentation titled "Less is more!" with Tom Heinzle and Heiko Brath. A session titled "The Young and Wild challenge the Big Boys and how Top Dogs reinvent themselves!" will feature an impulse lecture and guided tour with Camillo Tomanek.

Networking events include the VDG Happy Hour, hosted at Boulevard 010 from 17:00, and the Prime BBQ Night at Rheinterrassen from 18:00. A separate ticket is required for the BBQ evening event.

According to the spoga+gafa organisers: 'Whether you're looking for fresh ideas, valuable contacts, or simply the pulse of the industry, it all starts here.'

This edition also introduces digital support tools for attendees, including the spoga+gafa app, hall plans, exhibitor search function, and integration with Deutsche Bahn and Lufthansa for discounted travel.

The full programme and exhibitor list can be accessed via the official event site. The fair remains open exclusively to trade visitors and industry professionals.

For tickets, schedules, and access to tools for planning attendance, Koelnmesse directs visitors to the event's official ticket shop.

spoga+gafa 2025 will run through Thursday, 26 June.
