Ellen DeGeneres has offered fans a rare look into her new life in the English countryside, having relocated from Los Angeles to a farmhouse in the Cotswolds in late 2024. On 16 June 2025, she posted a light-hearted Instagram video showing several sheep wandering into her home through open glass doors. "Our sheep keep coming inside," she wrote, joking that while one piece of furniture resembles a sheep, "that one doesn't try to eat our rugs."

In the video, DeGeneres' wife, Portia de Rossi, is heard asking, 'They're coming inside?', to which DeGeneres replies, 'Yeah, they're inside.' Fans and friends, including Joanna Gaines and Andy Lassner, responded enthusiastically, calling for a full home tour.
The farmhouse, located near historic Roman ruins, drew controversy shortly after the couple moved in due to renovations that included a single-storey extension. Some locals objected, citing flood risks and concerns over damaging nearby heritage sites. However, the local council approved the plans, stating the work, although technically exceeding development permissions, was acceptable.
Despite the rocky start, DeGeneres appears to be embracing her new rural lifestyle—unexpected sheep visits included.
