Molteni&C and GamFratesi unveils eclectic fusion of design at 3daysofdesign

During the prestigious 3daysofdesign event in Copenhagen, Molteni&C celebrated its first collaboration with the Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi, composed of Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi. Known for blending Scandinavian simplicity with Mediterranean warmth, the studio unveiled two exclusive pieces at the Molteni&C Flagship Store, operated by INTERSTUDIO. The designers were present for a dedicated press event showcasing the Lia armchair and the Tibeau bed, both previously introduced at Milan Design Week 2025.

The Lia armchair embodies a seamless union of craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics. As designer GamFratesi describes, 'The LIA armchair is not just a piece of furniture, but an experience: a fusion of tradition and modernity, a celebration of craftsmanship that invites one to stop, connect, and fully enjoy the present.' Its sculpted sabre-shaped oak armrests frame a seat suspended by a light yet sturdy metal structure, blending the warmth of wood with the sleekness of metal and the softness of leather or fabric upholstery. The armchair's refined style adapts effortlessly across various environments, from private homes to hospitality spaces, with multiple customisation options including leather and bouclé fabric.

Complementing the Lia armchair, the Tibeau bed showcases Molteni&C's dedication to bold, solid wood craftsmanship. The bed's defining feature is its distinctive double headboard, designed in the shape of the letter "T." GamFratesi explains, 'The goal of the Tibeau bed is to bring to life the initial idea of our design, capable of evoking, with delicate intensity, an aesthetic inspired by brutalism or hints of a nearly tribal charm. The letter "T" becomes a symbol of sign and language, an expression of the design essence that defines the identity of this bed.' The bed's robust frame is complemented by soft, removable cushions in premium fabrics and a matching bench, creating a balanced dialogue between strength and comfort.

Both pieces reflect a sophisticated dialogue between Scandinavian minimalism and Italian elegance, reinforcing Molteni&C's reputation for innovative yet timeless design.
