Since its launch in 2015, One House has stood for a unique vision: bringing together various Dutch design brands under one roof. 'That's also where the name "One House" comes from,' explains Jan-Willem, co-owner. 'The success was soon noticeable, and thus began our journey with "Dutch Design".'

The combination of Dutch design with German craftsmanship is no coincidence. 'In Germany, we saw a strong demand for quality furniture, but especially for transparency,' explains Katharina. 'Customers want to know where something comes from and who makes it. The traditional model of large-scale purchasing in the furniture industry felt less and less appropriate. We wanted it to be different, with partners who really value craftsmanship and reliability.'
The brand thus brings together the best of both worlds: 'Dutch design is in our DNA. It is accessible, functional and aesthetically strong,' says Jan-Willem. 'Katharina's German roots and her economic outlook complete the picture.'
They say the success in Germany, with showrooms in Munich, Hamburg and Berlin, is mainly due to trust and experience: 'Customers are well-informed and seek confirmation. That's why physical locations are crucial. We don't just want to show design online, but to really experience it.' Sustainability, on the other hand, is not a buzzword, but a long-term vision. 'Our furniture is made to last, to withstand rough handling and to be easy to maintain,' Katharina emphasises. 'We consciously choose timeless design and quality, not a throwaway culture.'

Expansion
For the next five years, the focus is on further growth in German-speaking countries, with plans for new showrooms in Vienna, Cologne and Switzerland. 'We don't rule out expansion into the Netherlands or other countries, but our strength now lies in the DACH region,' says Jan-Willem.
Their biggest dream? 'To develop One House into a leading design brand in the DACH region, as an independent family business, true to our values and with a long-term view,' Katharina concludes. Unique to One House is their direct sales to end customers, without intermediaries.'This enables us to offer high-quality furniture at fair prices,' says Jan-Willem. One House thus proves that craftsmanship, transparency and timeless design go hand in hand, with a strong focus on quality and customer experience.
