With new building regulations set to take effect on 1 July 2025, construction firms in Denmark will face stricter requirements to document the climate impact of building materials. In response, Danish wood supplier Keflico has launched a digital solution providing access to product-specific climate data online.

The initiative is designed to help architects, contractors and other industry professionals perform precise greenhouse gas calculations, as required by the new regulations. Keflico's commercial director, Camilla Hyldgaard Thomsen, stated that the company has invested considerable resources in developing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and making them publicly available to "create the transparency the industry needs".
Keflico's online platform offers comprehensive CO₂ emission data for its wood products, reducing the administrative burden on construction stakeholders and enabling more informed decisions. It also allows users to compare the environmental impact of different materials—such as evaluating whether Brazilian-imported wood has a smaller climate footprint than Swedish-made bricks.
Thomsen added that "there are many perceptions of which materials are most sustainable, often without data. Now, we can help change that". The tool is expected to support the industry's transition towards more sustainable, evidence-based practices.
