Since 1968, PBJ Designhouse has proudly upheld a tradition of developing designs rooted in Danish design heritage and fine craftsmanship. We continuously reinterpret these traditions considering contemporary trends and the use of new materials and production methods. Driven by our passion for creating quality products, we combine skilled furniture craftsmanship with refreshing functionality, bold expressions, and strong ideas. Our expertise ranges from working with wood to a curious and often unconventional use of laminates, linoleum, and upholstery in chairs. Our collection includes furniture for nearly every purpose: tables, chairs, storage units, coffee tables, and shelving systems.
A designer's creativity is always elevated when ideas are further developed by the craftsman, someone who knows the materials, techniques, and possibilities inside out. The result is furniture with concept and identity, form and function, finish and elegance, dynamism and detail. That's why we're especially proud to present, for the first time, a new furniture series called Aro at 3daysofdesign.

The Aro Series – A Collaboration with Rikke Fros
Rikke Frost is an industrial designer educated at the Aarhus School of Architecture. She established her own studio in Aarhus in 2004 and works from a design philosophy based on three words:
MINIMAL – MAGICAL – MINDFUL
Below, Rikke Frost shares her thoughts on the series:
"The Aro series was created with the ambition to unite function and form in a harmonious and inviting expression, where each element in the series engages in a natural and honest dialogue with the others. The circular detail, repeated in both the legs and frames of tables and storage units, visually ties the series together and adds a defining feature that emphasizes the rounded and soft nature of the design.
In the rectangular tables, I've worked to make the extension function an integrated and aesthetic part of the design. The extension is not hidden but rather highlighted as a beautiful and natural component of the table's geometry. This creates an elegant visibility around the function, an honest gesture that emphasizes the furniture's flexibility without compromising its visual appeal.

The storage units are designed with a focus on both functionality and tactility. The sliding doors glide effortlessly to the side using a solid wood dowel handle – a handle that is not only practical but also offers a subtle, sensory grip that invites touch. The top is beautifully framed by the sides of the furniture, which both protects and frames the items placed there. The frame also allows for material contrasts and color choices that can be tailored to the room and atmosphere.
The Aro chair is designed for movement and presence. Its distinctive circular backrest allows for natural rotation while still providing support. The backrest invites movement and flexibility – and the chair is easy to move around; thanks to its light weight and the intuitive way it can be grasped by the backrest. It's a chair you experience and use with your whole body."
