Growing shift towards natural materials in the home:

Google searches for "wool" and "wood" increases over 5,000%

According to Google Trends, searches for wool and wood have increased by over 5,000% since 2024, reflecting a surge in interest around natural materials. As more homeowners seek materials that are both long-lasting and a pleasure to live with, the appeal of natural, tactile design has never been stronger.

Lisa Conway, Marketing Manager at heritage carpet company Brintons shares, 'The trend for all things natural and timeless uses simple and understated pieces and embraces natural materials such as wool, wicker, earthenware and sun-drenched woods with a colour palette of warm whites and neutrals.'

Lisa further shares, 'Not only is wool on trend right now, but it comes with the added bonus of being a fantastic sustainable choice for flooring. It insulates your home, is easily recyclable and biodegradable, plus shearing sheep is essential for their welfare. Thanks to wool's hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties, using it on the floor helps to make the air we breathe cleaner.'
