Velux owner backs billion-kroner tech fund

The fund aims to support technology startups focused on sustainability, specifically those contributing to the reduction of environmental impact. VKR Holding, a family- and foundation-owned company, also backed Kompas VC's initial funding round, underlining its ongoing commitment to green innovation.

Mads Kann-Rasmussen, chairman of VKR Holding, reiterated the group's ambition to invest in companies developing technologies that align with the broader goals of sustainability and climate responsibility. Through Kompas VC, VKR Holding is seeking to enable early-stage ventures that deliver scalable solutions for a greener future.

The 2021-launched Kompas VC fund has already supported several technology firms with a focus on sustainable development. The new funding round will allow the venture capital firm to expand its portfolio and increase its impact within the green tech sector.

This latest move further strengthens VKR Holding's role as a key player in sustainability-led investment in the Nordics.
