IKEA U.S. has revealed plans to open a new small-format store in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas, set to open in Fall 2025. This will be IKEA's 12th store in the state and is located in the Pharr Town Centre, approximately 11 miles from the Mexico border.
The store will span around 44,000 sq ft and is designed to bring the IKEA experience closer to the community. It will offer a curated selection of 1,600 items available for immediate take-away, with the full range available online for delivery or store pick-up. Additionally, the store will feature the Swedish Bite concept, offering a variety of hot and cold food options for customers to enjoy on the go or take home.
Javier Quiñones, CEO & Chief Sustainability Officer of IKEA U.S., explained, 'At IKEA, we want to create a better everyday life for the many people... by bringing IKEA close to where people live, work, socialise and shop.' The new store will be part of IKEA's strategy to enhance convenience and affordability for customers through smaller, more accessible store formats.
Keena Garcia, market manager for IKEA U.S., added, 'This new store brings our signature styles closer to the community in an innovative way, making it more accessible, more convenient, and more affordable than ever before.'
This new store reflects IKEA's continued commitment to evolving its retail presence and improving customer experience by investing in both physical locations and e-commerce services, such as Click & Collect and lower-priced shipping and delivery options.
