Furniture manufacturer Rover launches circular design chair from Flemish scrap metal

Circular furniture manufacturer Rover is introducing the SCRAP-Chair: a designer chair made entirely from industrial waste streams. This chair connects sustainability and design, and will be produced in a limited edition from June 2025.

The SCRAP-Chair combines aesthetics and circularity by reusing metal scraps from Haemers NV in Wevelgem for the seat and concrete-iron frames from the residual streams of Megaton in Ninove. The perforations in the seat depend on Haemers NV's punched figures, giving each chair a unique character. Moreover, the first 50 pieces of the chair are customisable in any RAL colour, making it fit effortlessly into various interiors.

ROVER is committed to a sustainable future by turning waste into high-quality designer furniture. The launch of the SCRAP-Chair highlights the potential of recovered materials in today's furniture industry.

The first presentation of the SCRAP-Chair took place during the Belgian Art & Design Affaire in Ghent a fortnight ago. From now on, you can pre-order the chair via the webshop or by contacting Rover. The chair can be tested and viewed at Lineair in Dilbeek, or by appointment. The LATTOLAMP (made from discarded slatted bases) is also available again via the webshop.
