Kusch+Co GmbH has announced the passing of its former owner

Kusch+Co GmbH has announced the passing of its former owner, Dieter Kusch, who died on 6 April 2025 at the age of 86. Mr Kusch was a central figure in the German furniture industry, having led the family business for several decades.

He joined Kusch+Co in 1963 and assumed leadership in 1969 following the sudden death of his father. Under his direction, the company became known for its innovative seating and table designs, as well as its commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Mr Kusch was recognised for his dedication to design excellence, fostering early and enduring partnerships with leading designers—an uncommon practice in the industry at the time. His legacy includes the introduction of progressive production methods, notably one of the first water-based lacquer systems in the furniture sector in 1989, highlighting his focus on both design and technological advancement.

Throughout his career, he was widely respected for his vision and contributions to furniture manufacturing. A statement from Kusch+Co described him as a "highly respected individual" whose energy and leadership left a lasting mark on the company and the broader industry.

The company expressed its condolences, extending "deepest sympathy" to Mr Kusch's family and those affected by his passing.

The team at InteriorDaily would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Dieter Kusch and the team at Kusch+Co GmbH.
