Moiré Gallery Milano illuminates Fuorisalone 2025 with “Luminosa”

Moiré Gallery Milano, the esteemed art gallery and concept store in the heart of Milan's Quadrilatero, unveils "Luminosa" at Fuorisalone 2025—an evocative group exhibition celebrating light through design, art, fashion, and jewellery. Located at Via Borgospesso 18, the show presents a multisensory experience that explores the symbolic, emotional, and aesthetic power of light across disciplines and eras.

Light, described as "a primordial, ancestral element, full of meanings, symbols and nuances," is at the heart of this exhibit. From sun and hearth to the metaphorical light of hope, Luminosa pays homage to light's enduring influence on human creativity.

Design highlights include pieces from Danish minimalist brand Lind DNA and Italian artisan company Vetrofuso, known for its exclusive Murano glass. Vetrofuso's standout sculptures such as Eyes Mirror and Turtle Shell transform reflective surfaces into surrealist artworks.

Contemporary lighting design takes centre stage with Overlight by Cypriot designer Ntaiana Charalampous of Dedàleo. A modular lighting system with interchangeable steel elements, Overlight "celebrates modularity and adaptability thanks to interchangeable steel elements". Also on display is a sculptural lamp by Hagit Pincovici made of marble, brass, and glass—"a lamp with a textured and sculptural aesthetic".

Visitors are also treated to a curated selection of antique lighting pieces: the 1970s Ginkgo brass lamp by Tommaso Barbi, the 1960s Alberello lamp by Stilnovo, and a rare 1990s desk lamp by Jeannot Cerutti. Handcrafted Moroccan-style lanterns from the artisans behind Marrakech's iconic La Mamounia hotel add an artisanal dimension to the showcase.

Abstract artist Tita contributes a new figurative direction with her Light series—large acrylic canvases inspired by urban street lighting. During Design Week, Tita will also engage in live painting performances, gifting small hand-painted works to gallery visitors.

Photographer Veronica Gaido presents Aphrodites and Vortex, two photographic series where male and female bodies emerge from a black backdrop using only candlelight—"a hymn to movement, to the nakedness of bodies and to the imperfection given by the long exposure technique".

Fashion is represented by Antonino Valenti, whose dresses shimmer with lurex inserts and embody "a strong, emancipated, sensual woman… who keeps her kindness and freshness". Meanwhile, Michela Bruni Reichlin's radiant jewellery fuses Eastern and Western styles in "a perfect combination of elegance and creativity".

'Luminosa wants to be a wish and a hope for the future,' says Ouafa Lotfi Tahoun, founder and curator of Moiré Gallery Milano. 'A light turned on in this dark historical moment, due to uncertainties and instability. Light, not only physical but also in the heart, soul and mind. A splendid and luminous light... to remind us that, despite the difficulties, there is always a way out and a reason to hope.'

Special Event: Monday, 7 April 2025, 5–9 p.m. (invitation only)
