A total of "572 new company incorporations" were recorded in the furnishing industry in February 2025, according to Companies House data.

The month saw "148 new furniture and carpet retailer incorporations", while "new manufacturer registrations represented 96". Furniture retail and lighting incorporations totalled "96", with carpet and floor coverings retail filings reaching "52".
Furniture manufacturer registrations, including kitchen, office, shop and upholstery furniture, accounted for "74", while carpet manufacturer incorporations stood at "two". Floor and wall covering filings reached "119", with no new wallpaper manufacturers registered.
The mattress sector recorded "six new company filings", while "14 new businesses" were registered in soft furnishings. The wholesale of furniture, carpet and lighting saw "50 incorporations", and "132 filings" were recorded for agents involved in the sale of furniture and household goods.
Additionally, "27 new furniture repair businesses" were registered in February.
