Becca explained that her 10-year-old son wanted a double bed, but she felt the existing grey bedhead was "too girly" for his gaming room. To save money, she purchased fabric dye from eBay and applied it using a large paintbrush after spraying the fabric with water. She later dyed his grey desk chair black as well.
While many praised her creativity, others questioned why she considered grey to be a 'girly' colour. One commenter asked, 'How is grey "girly"? What are you teaching him?' Becca responded in another video, explaining that her son associated the bedhead with her previous bedroom rather than the colour itself.
Concerns were also raised about the dye potentially rubbing off on clothes. Some warned that excess dye could transfer, while others reassured viewers, with one person stating, 'I've used this fabric dye... it doesn't come off on your clothes as I painted my dining chairs.'
Despite the mixed reactions, Becca was pleased with the results, showing in a follow-up video how the black furniture complemented the room's décor.
