In October 2024, over 500 new businesses were registered in the UK's furnishing sector, reflecting a strong growth in the industry. A total of 551 new companies were incorporated, with 155 in furniture and carpet retail, and 119 in manufacturing. Specifically, there were 105 new furniture retail and lighting businesses, alongside 50 in carpet and floor coverings retail.

The furniture manufacturing sector saw 90 new registrations, which includes businesses involved in kitchen, office, and shop furniture, as well as upholstery. Carpet manufacturing companies numbered 5, and floor and wall coverings accounted for 101 new registrations. There was one new wallpaper manufacturer and 11 companies registered in the mattress manufacturing sector.
In addition, the soft furnishings industry saw 12 new businesses, while wholesale operations for furniture, carpet, and lighting had 51 new incorporations. The sale of furniture and household goods through agents added 100 new companies, and 25 new furniture repair businesses were registered.
These new incorporations reflect the ongoing dynamism and expansion within the UK furnishing market, encompassing a wide range of retail, manufacturing, and service-oriented businesses.
