Unilin invests €20 million in new facility in France

Unilin is to invest €20 million in the construction of a new plant in Bazeilles, northern France. The new facility will recycle MDF boards on a large scale, making it a world first in the sector. The plant, which is expected to be operational by the end of 2025, is an extension of Unilin's existing operations in Bazeilles.

The new recycling process has been developed as part of Unilin's sustainability objectives. Until recently, the recycling of MDF and HDF boards was not technologically possible, but through years of research Unilin has now developed a patented process that enables the reuse of 70,000 tonnes of wood fibre per year.
