KA Interiør, a Danish interior manufacturer, is launching its own brand, Moltema, in the German market as part of a broader European expansion. Traditionally a private-label producer of sliding door cabinets for kitchen and furniture sectors, the company aims to transition from a subcontractor to a direct retailer. This shift is driven by differing market demands in countries like Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, where the private-label model is less popular.

To support this expansion, KA Interiør has adapted its product range, adding hinged doors and introducing a new colour palette tailored to German trends. These changes involved significant development at their Grindsted factory since 2022. With Moltema's launch, KA Interiør seeks to counteract the saturation of the Nordic market, where growth opportunities are dwindling.
The company's Nordic market struggles were evident in a financial downturn in 2023, with losses replacing years of double-digit profits. However, CEO Kristian Bonde, appointed in May 2024, has said in an article in Wood Supply that the company anticipates a recovery and growth in 2024, aiming for a profit of 5-10 million DKK and a revenue increase of 15-20%. Bonde, brought in by Vivonio Furniture Group to spearhead international growth, foresees annual growth rates of 10-20% in the coming years, leveraging cost reductions and new market entries.
