In 2023, the Polish furniture production sector experienced significant declines, according to data from the Central Statistical Office. The overall value of furniture production decreased by 5.5% compared to 2022, amounting to PLN 51,512.8 million. This decline was reflected across various categories of furniture, with upholstered wooden furniture production dropping notably by 21.2%, and wooden furniture for dining rooms and living rooms decreasing by 5.2% year-on-year.

The broader industrial production landscape also showed a downturn, with 12 out of 23 divisions reporting decreases. The chemicals and chemical products division saw the largest decline at 24.6%. Conversely, some sectors, such as motor vehicles and other transport equipment, saw increases of 16.9% and 13.8% respectively.
Production trends were mixed across specific product categories within the furniture sector. Of the 4,561 products tracked, 3,500 reported sold production. Among these, 1,273 products showed increased production while 2,205 products experienced decreases, underscoring the sector's varied performance.
In terms of raw materials, sawn timber production declined by 12.8% to 4,170 cubic meters, while fibreboard production fell by 10.6% to 608,652 square meters in 2023 compared to the previous year.
