Import from Turkish furniture to Europe shows massive 80% increase

Over the past five years, the value of furniture imports from Turkey to EU countries has seen a consistent rise. In 2019, these imports were valued at €938 million, increasing to €1,702 million in 2023, marking an over 80% increase during this period.

Among EU countries, Germany and Italy are the largest importers of Turkish furniture. Germany leads significantly, importing furniture worth €516 million in 2023, which represents about 30% of all EU imports from Turkey. Germany has shown a steady annual increase in import value, with 2022 recording the highest year-on-year growth rate at +47%.

In Italy, furniture imports from Turkey were valued at €80 million in 2023, down from €87 million in 2022, showing an 8% decrease. However, previous years had seen increases of 21-24%. Poland also saw furniture imports from Turkey worth €36 million in 2023, compared to €47 million in 2022. Despite this recent decrease, the period from 2019 to 2023 shows an overall upward trend, with the highest growth rate recorded in 2022, which was 57% higher than in 2021.

The consistent increase in the value of Turkish furniture imports to the EU suggests a growing popularity of Turkish furniture in the European market.
