For instance, Egger's operations at its Unterradlberg plant in Austria now operate without the use of natural gas following the installation of a new heat exchanger. Additionally, Egger is investing approximately EUR 80 million in a new power plant at its St. Johann in Tirol location, aiming to transition to renewable energy sources and reduce fossil fuel usage.
To achieve its Net Zero goals, Egger has set interim targets for 2030, including significant reductions in direct and indirect emissions from its own operations. The company is committed to continuous improvement and transparency in its sustainability efforts, regularly undergoing assessments by external ESG rating agencies. Furthermore, Egger has transitioned to using binding agents produced with CO2-neutral electricity across all its board-producing plants in the EU and UK.
