The Kei rug collection captures the pristine majesty of the Nordic wild scenery defined by its contrasting elevations, changing colours, and boreal wilderness interspersed with reflective lakes. A landscape of raw power, yet also tranquil and meditative.
Art Director Anita Kars translated her sensory encounters from hikes along lakes in Scandinavia into an exceptional collection of hand-knotted rugs. The irregular textures and high, rolling pile of Kei evoke stone islets emerging from the water's surface.
The distinctive character of Himalayan wool, with its natural tint and shades, not only imparts a beautiful patina to undyed colours but also accentuates the uniqueness of organic materials. Every aspect, from the hand-carded yarns, to the unrivalled hand-knotting techniques employed by Nepalese artisans, contributes to making each rug a singular testament to the extraordinary, much like the landscape that inspired them.
Kei, available in dyed and undyed colours, tells a story of nature, craftsmanship, and the harmonious intersection of the two.
