EspritMeuble interviews Pierre Bigot, sales manager at Bora France

'We have the ambition to expand the BORA range from cooktops to a whole range of kitchen products'

In 2007, Willi Bruckbauer launched the first cooktop with integrated extraction system with his BORA Professional model, to address the challenges encountered by this type of installation: too noisy, sometimes inefficient, and obstructing the kitchen's field of vision. These cooktops with integrated extraction, which have revolutionised kitchen space, have since been acclaimed for the advantages they offer in terms of practicality and design. EspritMeuble interviews Pierre Bigot, sales manager at Bora France.

Can you introduce BORA?
'BORA develops and produces innovative built-in kitchen appliances with high-end design. The Austrian-German group presents its portfolio internationally under the slogan "More than cooking." Since its foundation by Willi Bruckbauer in 2007, the company has set out to challenge the status quo. The mission: We revolutionise the kitchen living space. With exceptional products for an exceptional experience.'

'It all started with the launch of an ingenious technology of integrated extraction in cooktops, allowing for better performance. Since then, BORA has continued to develop its extraction systems, always with a commitment to perfection. BORA's offering has expanded with the introduction of BORA X BO, the professional steam combination oven for home use, and its multifunctional culinary drawer. 2023 marked the launch of new innovative products, including high-end lighting fixtures and refrigeration and freezing systems. We continuously develop our products to offer the best culinary experience possible to our customers and future customers. BORA products stand out for their maximum performance and ease of use and cleaning. Thanks to their timeless design, they blend into the living space of all kitchens to ensure clean air and an unobstructed view.'

'BORA now employs over 650 employees worldwide, particularly at its sites in Raubling, Niederndorf, and Sydney, as well as in Flagship Stores in Munich and Herford. To date, BORA products are marketed in more than 40 countries worldwide.'

What are your news and challenges for 2024?
'We have the ambition to expand the BORA range from cooktops with integrated extraction to a whole range of kitchen products. We want to offer our customers a true experience. We have launched a new BORA M Pure cooktop, the design luminaires BORA Horizon and BORA Stars, and a unique built-in vacuum sealing appliance for countertops on the market, the BORA QVac. We have also created a range of refrigeration with advanced technology, consisting of 4 refrigerator/freezer solutions: BORA Cool and Freeze, which we want to develop further. At the forefront of technology, they allow for optimal food preservation as well as comfort and practicality in everyday life with a completely reinvented ergonomics.'

Bora will be at EspritMeuble 2024, taking place from November 16-19 in Paris.
