Molteni&C enters a new era of refinement for its 90th anniversary, with Vincent Van Duysen

The 2024 Molteni&C indoor collection invites you into a world of enduring sophistication, inspired by the exquisite quality and refined details found in the work of Milanese architect Piero Portaluppi, reimagined by Vincent Van Duysen.

Portaluppi's genius lies in the seamless blend of tradition and modernity, bridging the past, present, and future while infusing each creation with emotional depth and functional innovation. Under the creative direction of Vincent Van Duysen, Molteni&C embarks on a journey towards a new era of decorative refinement, coinciding with the celebration of the company's 90th anniversary. Each piece in this collection is a testament to craftsmanship and style, striking a harmonious balance between tradition and innovation.

Drawing inspiration from Milan's iconic Villa Necchi Campiglio, Van Duysen masterfully
translates Portaluppi's architectural legacy into clean, sinuous lines that exude a sense
of balance and symmetry. Curves and proportions define the furniture's movement,
anchoring it firmly in a rigorous yet stylish aesthetic. 'We've opted for refined materials that harken back to the 1930s. This collection is slightly more decorative than previous years, adding an extra layer of sophistication to the Molteni&C universe,' says Van Duysen.

A diverse palette of materials—solid wood, glass, leather, and metal—is meticulously
combined to create exquisite details such as tonal stitching on the Augusto sofa by Vincent Van Duysen and brass accents on the Card bookcase by Michael Anastassiades. The innovative Logos wall unit by Vincent Van Duysen features specially engineered supporting structures, allowing for independent and decorative elements. Modularity and versatility are key themes, with the Augusto sofa expanding into a modular system to adapt to contemporary lifestyles. The Fonte coffee tables, available in three sizes, offer both functionality and aesthetics, complementing the interplay of solid and void that characterizes the Augusto and Lucio sofa and armchair collection (Vincent Van Duysen).

Van Duysen's creative sensibility harmonises effortlessly with Portaluppi's sophisticated
palette, creating a symphony of neutral tones, burnished metals, and the clarity of glass.
Fabrics curated by Marta Ferri enhance the collection's visual and tactile appeal, while
AVOTANTM vegetable-tanned leathers reflect a commitment to sustainability, making use of surplus olive oil from Italian producers.
