Is AI revolutionising design or killing designers?

In the era of artificial intelligence, tasks once reserved for human creativity are now being accomplished by machines. From drawing pictures to creating videos, AI algorithms are streamlining design processes that previously required teams of individuals and extensive hours. The question arises: is AI the harbinger of a new industrial revolution, poised to replace designers altogether?

Throughout history, advancements in technology have continuously reshaped industries, making processes more efficient. While AI can assist in the creative process, it cannot replace the human touch in discerning what truly resonates with people. Designers play a crucial role in solving problems and enriching the human experience. By leveraging AI tools, designers can enhance their creative expressions while maintaining quality. However, it's essential to prioritise human intentions and judgements in the design process, focusing on designing for people rather than solely for scientific optimisation.
