RIBA forms partnership to support Gulf business opportunities

As part of their work to support the global exchange of architectural expertise, RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) have formed a new partnership with Eye of Riyadh, a business partnering and marketing communications organisation in Saudi Arabia. The partnership will enable us to contribute to the major growth and transformation in architecture that's taking place across the Kingdom, and seek opportunities for the members we represent.

Due to the scale of development, the Gulf, and Saudi Arabia in particular, remains a strategic priority area. The partnership with Eye of Riyadh follows their Memorandum of Understanding with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Architecture and Design Commission (ADC), in which RIBA agreed to work together to exchange knowledge and research, and promote best practice to the members and stakeholders they represent.

Eye of Riyadh will support RIBA as they seek to operate our business activities in Saudi Arabia, and collaborate with the ADC to champion quality real estate development.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by RIBA's Chief Executive, Valerie Vaughan-Dick and Eye of Riyadh Chief Executive Abdullah Al Harbi on 13 March 2024 at MIPIM, Cannes.

RIBA Chief Executive Dr Valerie Vaughan-Dick MBE said: 'I am delighted to sign this agreement and commence our working partnership with the Eye of Riyadh.

Underpinning our growth in the region, this critical partnership will allow us to deliver on our commitments and deliver our services and support for the organisations and individuals we work with.

Our two organisations have common ground. Our philosophies are aligned. We both seek to continue challenging ourselves to deliver state of the art solutions for our customers. We both want to ensure Saudi Arabia delivers the very best real estate – with the best possible architectural designs that deliver for communities.'

Eye of Riyadh Chief Executive Abdullah Al Harbi said: 'Considering the substantial potential for growth and development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia our primary focus is on attracting international firms to engage in the Saudi market by partnering with Eye of Riyadh.

This aligns with the principles outlined in the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Through our collaboration with RIBA, we aim to channel all our efforts towards advancing expertise and expanding business opportunities.'
