Vente-unique celebrates 18th anniversary and expands to Portugal and The Netherlands

Vente-unique.com, a major online furniture retailer in France and Europe, celebrates its 18th anniversary with the publication of a record year turnover of over €200 million for the year 2022-2023 and a Group consolidated turnover with an increase of +13.1%. For the second year in a row, the company has been named "Customer Service of the Year 2024" in the Furniture and Decoration category. The player with nearly 400 employees in 11 countries has been profitable since its inception. These results, along with an award, set the stage for starting the new year.

When Vente-unique.com was founded in 2006 by Sacha Vigna, co-founder and CEO, nobody believed in its success. With a very simple storytelling (only one sofa model for sale each week for just 7 days), the company now offers thousands of items and has supplied more than 2.5 million customers in 11 European countries. Headquartered in Île-de-France, the company employs nearly 400 people from 15 different countries.

Despite a global economic crisis, Vente-unique.com's turnover increased in 2008 due to customers' search for bargains. With the debt crisis in Europe in 2011, the company faced a new challenge. To stay on course, the focus was on operational excellence and innovation to reinforce the ultimate goal - customer satisfaction. Then, in 2020, the pandemic struck, radically accelerating the e-commerce landscape. The furniture industry experienced significant growth during this period as the French invested in their own homes. This crisis demonstrated one of Vente-unique.com's greatest strengths: offering, flexibility, and the ability to source globally at the best possible price.

In 2023, the company achieved a record total annual sales volume of over €200 million and a consolidated annual increase in group turnover (including logistics) of +13.1%, in line with the average annual growth rate of the past 10 years.

Since its inception, Vente-unique.com has aimed to provide its customers with impeccable service, from order to delivery, and in November, it was elected Customer Service of the Year in the Furniture and Decoration category in the three countries where it applied: in France for the second consecutive year, as well as in Germany and Spain. Since the inception of this award, they are the third company to receive three awards.

To increase customer satisfaction by expanding the number of available products, the Marketplace is not only active in France but also in Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, and Switzerland (a total of 432 retailers with 742,000 active offers). In March, Vente-unique.com Marketplaces will be launched in the Netherlands and Portugal.

The entire value chain is internalized: sourcing, purchasing, marketing, IT, and logistics (deliveries are centrally handled through a warehouse of 80,000 m2). Each field has become a real expertise. Combined with the close relationships with partners built up over 18 years, this strategy allows Vente-unique.com to eliminate intermediaries, negotiate better, and achieve ultra-competitive prices, particularly by creating a selection of inflation-resistant items.'
