In a dual executive appointment, Beyond Inc. has brought in an external candidate to lead the Bed Bath & Beyond business, while promoting an internal stalwart to spearhead the overhaul of its longstanding Overstock.com venture. Bed Bath & Beyond filed for bankruptcy in April last year, but relaunched in August after the company's intellectual property assets were bought for $21.5 million by Overstock.com in June.

Chandra Holt has been appointed as the new CEO of Bed Bath & Beyond. Holt previously held a prominent position as one of Walmart's senior female executives before departing in the summer of 2021. Her most recent role was as CEO and president of Conn's HomePlus. Before that she served as the Executive Vice President of eCommerce at Walmart, overseeing crucial operations such as samsclub.com, among others. Her extensive retail career also encompasses leadership roles at esteemed companies such as Walgreens and Target.
'I'm excited to share that I've joined Beyond, Inc. as Chief Executive Officer, Bed Bath & Beyond and other related brands. It's a transformative time for the business and I'm passionate about reestablishing category dominance for this iconic consumer brand,' Holt says on LinkedIn.
Meanwhile, David Nielsen, who has been with Overstock.com Inc. since 2009, has been promoted to the position of CEO for that division. Nielsen had previously assumed the role of interim CEO and president of Beyond Inc. following the removal of former CEO Jonathan Johnson last November. Nielsen has been instrumental in overseeing various departments within Beyond Inc., including marketing, merchandising, supply chain, technology, and digital product divisions.
