MOS Design:

'Every item is exclusively created, shaped and painted by hand in our studio in Rome'

MOS Design was founded in 1999 through the collaboration of Sara Chiarugi and Michele Morandi, whose distinct sensibilities converge with a pronounced artistic DNA, reflected in the creation of sophisticated and versatile furniture pieces. Three-dimensional texture and relief that transform the surface of tables, bookcases, panels, and accessories are the brand's hallmark. At the Maison&Objet fair the brand showcased their new products.

'Every item is exclusively created, shaped and painted by hand in our studio in Rome, making every piece unique. Creative improvisation combined with innovation creates exclusive and emotional items. We believe that objects passionately created with ancient workmanship take on a symbolic meaning beyond their physical structure. Our work is a continual stylistic and technical research, in search of equilibrium among art, design, and craftsmanship,' they say.

The duo designs with nods to twentieth-century avant-gardes, African art, punk, and fashion. Sara, a creative designer and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, brings her fashion background, having worked with esteemed brands like Romeo Gigli, Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, and Fendi. Michele, on the other hand, is a product designer with a craft-oriented approach and a strong inclination towards customisation.

At the recent Maison&Objet fair, several furniture pieces captured the attention of visitors. Among them were the textured Wave and Multi Moon tables, available in Dark Brown and Tundra colour variations. The Wave design, with its intricate texture reminiscent of undulating waves, adds depth and character to any space. The Dark Brown variant exudes warmth and sophistication, while the Tundra option offers a more neutral and contemporary appeal.
