CEO of Swiss Krono Group has left

In September 2023, after more than seven successful years as CEO of Swiss Krono Group, Martin Brettenthaler (53) decided to embark on a new professional journey. At the request of the owner, he continued to lead the Group's activities until a successor could be appointed. As of February 1, 2024, Peter Wijnbergen (61) will assume the management of the Group by stepping into the role of CEO.

Peter Wijnbergen has been a member of the Board of Directors at the wood products supplier since 2022, and can look back on a long career in the timber industry, most recently as CEO of Norbord. Martin Brettenthaler will now leave the Group on January 31, 2024, under the best terms with the owner and the Group's Board of Directors.

Martin Brettenthaler: 'As a strong team, we have achieved a lot at Swiss Krono Group over the past seven years. I want to thank our employees, my colleagues from the Group Executive Board, and the Board of Directors for their excellent and dedicated collaboration. In particular, I want to thank the owner of Swiss Krono, Ines Kaindl, for her trust and the opportunity to lead her family business during this period.'

Ines Kaindl: 'We respect the wishes of our current CEO Martin Brettenthaler, thank him for his significant commitment and successful corporate performance, and wish him all the best for his professional and personal future.'

The search for a successor has begun. By assuming the role of CEO, Peter Wijnbergen, a member of the Board of Directors, will ensure continuity in the management of Swiss Krono Group and stimulate the Group's further growth.

Peter Wijnbergen: 'I am delighted to take up the mantle and seamlessly ensure the leadership of Swiss Krono Group. I can count on the full support of the owner and the Board of Directors.'
