Kohler, known for design and innovation in water spanning 150 years, unveiled the remarkable Formation 01 faucet at Design Miami/ 2023, a collaborative effort with SR_A. The faucet is a limited edition of 299 units.
'Combining dynamic gesture with advanced engineering, Formation 01 takes a familiar object—the bathroom faucet—and reimagines it as a functioning sculpture,' says the brand. 'In creating the Formation 01 faucet, we developed a bespoke waterway that creates a continuous sheet of water to radically reimagine our experience of everyday objects. Functionality must never be sacrificed to form.'
'To realise Samuel Ross’ creative vision, Kohler invited him to explore a new advanced composite material—Neolast—that offers boundless form, unexpected texture, and rich, saturated colours. An embossed cast iron escutcheon plate celebrates our collaboration in an homage to Kohler’s history of material innovation.'
