Abimis designs kitchen for Milanese penthouse:

A kitchen with a view

An exclusive home spread across two levels, interprets the theme of more contemporary living but features technologies and intelligent layout of spaces. The penthouse, which occupies the 7th and 8th floor of a 1970s building, enjoying a privileged point of view across the Porta Nuova skyline and exceptional brightness provided by the large windows that surround it, has become the home to a kitchen in the Atelier line by Abimis.

The kitchen occupies the upper floor, which is characterised by a large living space divided into two distinct areas: one intended for social activities, such as receiving guests and organising dinners, parties or events, and the other, more intimate and cosy, dedicated to the family. Atelier acts like a joining element here between the two areas.

The customised Abimis kitchen responds fully to the owners’ desire to have an ergonomic, functional and highly performing solution, structured to meet the needs of the most demanding chef - exactly like in professional restaurant kitchens - but able to blend into a residential setting.

Atelier is split into two distinct areas: an operative one, distinguished by a satin finish which makes the surface matt and slightly reflecting, giving the steel an elegant and contemporary appearance (which can also help to hide any signs of wear or scratches that could form over time), and a service that communicates with the first area through a practical serving hatch that extends as far as the living area.

The operative part, as well as comprising the washing area and work space, is accessorised and equipped with cutting edge professional technologies for cooking, preparing, storing and refrigerating food, also thanks to the Sub Zero & Wolf appliances by Frigo2000.

The really unusual feature of the concept is that the entire kitchen environment is made of stainless steel, including the walls, floor and ceiling, which is painted an intense red colour, broken up by lines of LED lights. This design choice was made in order to guarantee utmost hygiene, with formal and conceptual references to the kitchens of large hotel facilities. To create a chromatic bond with the ceiling and give the kitchen a decorative touch, the knobs of the hobs and ovens are also red.

With the Atelier kitchen by Abimis it has thus been possible to create an experience on par with the best restaurants for fine dining, but in the comfort of a home.
