Erik Haara appointed as new CEO of TMF Sweden

Erik Haara has been appointed as the new CEO of TMF, the Swedish Federation of Wood and Furniture Industries, with a new role starting in the fall of 2024. He comes from the Swedish Association of the Glass Industry, where he served as CEO and former head of negotiations.

"We are very pleased to have reached the finish line after a thorough recruitment process with many qualified applicants. Erik comes from a related industry and has extensive experience in employer issues as well as industry and corporate policies, all equally important factors as TMF continues on the journey of change initiated by the former CEO," says Chairman of the Board Claes Hansson.

Erik Haara has been CEO of the Swedish Association of the Glass Industry for over ten years and previously served as head of negotiations in the organisation. He has previously worked as a corporate lawyer at a law firm and also has political experience as an expert at the Ministry of Agriculture and in the municipal council of Haparanda.

"Construction companies, including single-family homes and companies specialising in kitchens, bathrooms, doors, windows, as well as furniture and interior design, are at the forefront of the sustainability journey that characterises the business community in general. I look forward to continuing to position our member companies as the pillars of society they are. They are great employers in locations across the country and world leaders in the circular transition," says Erik Haara.

Erik Haara holds an LL.M. degree from Uppsala University and has studied economics in the United States. He succeeds David Johnsson, who has moved on to a new role as head of international labour market issues at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.
