According to various price indicators, spot prices for shipping sea containers from Asia to Europe are on the rise again. Since the beginning of this year, we have seen rates continuously decreasing. That trend has now come to an end.
The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which often signals tariff developments first, reports a jump in the rate to Europe of hundreds of dollars this week: from $1971 to $2300. The rates in the SCFI are based on 20FT containers.
