New collection launch by Bob Verhelst for Serax

The first part of the collection of objects and furniture, called "Sculptural Confluence | part 1," designed by Bob Verhelst, fits perfectly within the universe of Serax, where functionality harmonises with aesthetics and art.

Verhelst is a versatile designer. Over the course of his career, he has built up an impressive track record, ranging from the design of theatre costumes to the scenography for various museums worldwide. He was a guest lecturer at the fashion academy in The Hague. He designed shop windows for brands like Hermès and Cartier and worked on the launch of "Flowerbomb" by Viktor & Rolf. In addition, he has also found time to develop himself as a visual artist and designer.

From his carefully constructed portfolio, Serax made a first selection for launch in 2024. Sculptural Confluence | part 1 includes a range of vases, mood lamps, trays, multi-functional side tables and an armchair. Verhelst does not like fleeting trends, but he draws inspiration from the Bauhaus movement, Eileen Gray and Miro. Recently, he mentioned Vincenzo De Cotiis as one of his favourite designers. He translates his graphic work and sculptures into tangible objects in wood and ceramics, where geometric shapes dominate and bright and earthy colours alternate. Verhelst has no specific interior in mind when he designs but trusts that his creations will find their way to the right place.
