DOVR Media introduces AI commerce platform targeting furniture retail visibility

At the upcoming High Point Market, DOVR Media will present a repositioned brand alongside the launch of a new AI Commerce Enablement platform. The move signals a strategic shift from traditional web and digital marketing services towards AI-focused retail solutions.

The company, a Shopify partner serving more than 1,000 furniture retail storefronts across North America, is introducing a dedicated practice aimed at improving retailer visibility within AI-driven search environments. This includes a redesigned website and a service model centred on how products and retailers are surfaced in conversational AI tools.

According to founder and CEO Jake Freedman, the shift reflects broader changes in the retail landscape, where AI-powered search is increasingly influencing purchasing decisions. The company positions this development as a key turning point for the furniture industry, comparable to the impact of the early internet on retail.

Central to the new offering are two proprietary systems. The first, Prepared Products technology, structures manufacturer data so that AI systems can interpret and recommend individual products more effectively. This is particularly relevant for retailers managing large inventories across multiple suppliers.

The second component is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), a service designed to optimise how retailers appear in AI-generated search responses. Unlike traditional SEO, which focuses on rankings within search engine results, GEO aims to position retailers as direct recommendations within AI interactions, where visibility is often limited to a single or small number of suggested options.

The platform is offered through a tiered subscription model, with pricing structured to accommodate retailers at different stages of digital development. The approach is intended to support independent furniture retailers in competing within an increasingly AI-driven market, where visibility may depend less on advertising spend and more on data readiness and optimisation for AI systems.

DOVR Media's presentation at High Point Market reflects a growing focus within the sector on AI integration and its implications for retail strategy, particularly in relation to discoverability and customer acquisition.
