BoConcept is continuing its measured expansion in France, with plans to open two new stores annually as part of a long-term franchise strategy. The Danish design furniture brand currently operates 30 locations in the country and generates around €50 million in annual sales, positioning France among its most promising markets globally.

The brand, present in France since 1993, now counts approximately 280 stores worldwide. Its positioning focuses on premium, customisable furniture inspired by Danish design, targeting primarily customers aged 40 and above, while also appealing to younger, design-oriented consumers. The average order value stands at €2,500, reflecting its mid- to high-end market segment.
Expansion efforts are focused on major cities such as Marseille, Aix-en-Provence and Strasbourg, with preferred retail spaces ranging from 250 to 350 square metres in high-visibility locations. Rather than rapid growth, the company emphasises controlled development to ensure franchisee support and long-term profitability.
BoConcept is seeking experienced retail entrepreneurs with an interest in design, although prior furniture industry experience is not required. Franchisees receive training and operational support, with typical store teams consisting of three to four staff members.
The investment required to open a BoConcept franchise includes a personal contribution of €150,000, with total investment reaching up to €300,000. The made-to-order model reduces inventory costs, with products delivered within four to eight weeks.
Overall, the strategy reflects a focus on sustainable growth, strong brand positioning and a consistent customer experience across the French market.
