Spain's home furniture sector continued its recovery in 2025, with turnover reaching approximately €1.595 billion, marking a 4% increase year-on-year. The growth reflects improving domestic demand, particularly in residential projects and renovation activity, alongside increased investment in contract and professional segments.

The sector's performance highlights how companies are adapting to evolving consumer expectations. Greater emphasis on design, sustainability and digitalisation has supported revenue gains, while innovation in both products and sales channels, especially omnichannel strategies and customised solutions, has strengthened competitiveness. Urban demand and the gradual recovery of construction-related sectors have also contributed to momentum.
Exports remained a key growth driver, rising by 5.8% to €852 million. France, Portugal, the United States, Germany and Italy accounted for nearly 60% of total exports, with the U.S. market showing particularly strong expansion for a second consecutive year. However, this positive trend is offset by a sharper increase in imports, which climbed 9.1% to €1.176 billion, widening the trade deficit to €324 million. China continues to dominate as the primary supplier, accounting for nearly half of imports.
Despite rising volumes, profitability remains under pressure. Companies face increasing production costs, price-sensitive consumers and stronger bargaining power from distribution channels. Many are responding by shifting towards higher-value offerings, including sustainable materials, circular production models and enhanced customer experiences.
Structurally, the industry remains highly fragmented, with around 9,300 manufacturers, 90% employing fewer than 10 people. However, gradual consolidation and increased investment among larger players signal a move toward greater efficiency and scalability. Overall, the Spanish furniture sector demonstrates resilience, but long-term growth will depend on balancing cost pressures with innovation and value creation.
