Danish machine manufacturer files for bankruptcy after sales collapse

A Danish machine manufacturer has filed for bankruptcy following a sharp decline in sales and mounting financial losses, despite a recent capital injection. The family-owned company, based in Middelfart and operated by Janni and Jesper Frandsen, had received an additional DKK 4.7 million (approximately €630,000) in September in an effort to stabilise operations.

However, the Ceetec was unable to recover from its deteriorating financial position. Accounts for the 2024/25 financial year already pointed to severe challenges, with gross profit falling dramatically from DKK 25.9 million (€3.5 million) to DKK 5.3 million (€710,000). The significant drop underscored a steep decline in sales, ultimately leading to the company's collapse.

At the beginning of 2026, Ceetec employed 38 people, according to official records. A trustee has now been appointed and is exploring the possibility of selling all or parts of the business, offering a potential lifeline for certain operations or assets.

The case highlights the ongoing pressure on manufacturing companies facing volatile demand and financial instability, where even additional funding may not be enough to offset sustained revenue declines.
