The transaction, expected to complete in July, includes The Container Store, Swedish storage brand Elfa, and US-based Closet Works. CEO Marcus Lemonis described the move as a "critical step" that will fill gaps in both retail and service offerings.
More than 100 Container Store locations will be converted into hybrid stores branded The Container Store/Bed Bath & Beyond, offering an expanded range across home categories alongside enhanced services such as custom closets, flooring and kitchen solutions.
The company expects the integration of its recent acquisitions, including Kirkland's, to deliver at least $40m in annual cost savings within 12 to 18 months.
As part of the deal, Amy Sullivan will oversee integration as president, while other leadership changes have been announced across operations and finance.
The acquisition signals Bed Bath & Beyond's push to build a broader, service-led retail model aimed at driving revenue growth and improving margins.
