Sofa Brands International returns to profit growth amid strategic overhaul

The upholstery manufacturer, which owns brands including G Plan, Parker Knoll and Duresta, attributed the improvement to a wide-ranging transformation programme aimed at strengthening its financial position and operational efficiency.

Key measures included streamlining systems, enhancing product quality, introducing tighter financial controls and shifting towards a more integrated group structure. The business also reduced overheads through improved efficiencies and headcount optimisation.

On the commercial side, SBI increased its focus on product development and in-store presence, working closely with retail partners to drive sales across the UK and international markets.

A spokesperson said the company is 'moving in the right direction' and expects further gains as its growth strategy continues to be implemented.

For the furniture and interiors sector, the results highlight how operational restructuring and closer retail collaboration are becoming critical for manufacturers seeking to restore profitability in a challenging market environment.
