A "living archive" by Tutto Bene
Located on Corso Venezia with a new entrance on Via Senato, the store has been redesigned by international studio Tutto Bene. Rather than a traditional retail update, the project positions the space as a "living archive", translating Fornasetti's iconic visual language into architecture.
Under the artistic direction of Barnaba Fornasetti, the store becomes a narrative environment where heritage, imagination and contemporary life intersect.
Three levels, three experiences
The flagship unfolds across three distinct floors:
- Ground floor – Fornasetti Space:
A transitional, gallery-like area connecting city and atelier. During Design Week, it hosts Fornasetti Fiori, a 12-week floral residency by Simone Gooch (Fjura), integrating sculptural arrangements with printed architectural surfaces. - First floor – The Living Archive:
A curated display of the brand's catalogue, presented in vitrines and cabinets inspired by museum typologies, highlighting repetition, variation and craftsmanship. - Second floor – The Apartment:
An immersive domestic setting divided into themed rooms, where furniture and objects are experienced in context rather than as standalone pieces.
Ornament as architecture
The project reinterprets Fornasetti's signature motifs, black-and-white graphics, surreal imagery and decorative patterns, as structural and spatial elements. Materials remain intentionally raw, allowing objects to carry visual richness while reinforcing the tactile experience.
