fonQ Group granted final moratorium: court appoints administrator

The moratorium for fonQ Group has been formally granted. Today, Thursday, 26 March 2026, the Utrecht District Court officially approved the moratorium for fonq.nl B.V. This begins the phase in which administrator Mr. Noor Zetteler takes charge of the future of the well-known home furnishing platform.

The formal moratorium follows ten days after the management of the fonQ Group sounded the alarm. The moratorium concerns the group's main entity, which operates under numerous trade names, including fonQ.nl, fonQ.eu and various specialised webshops such as Moleskine.nl and the Curver webshop.

Focus on continuity and governance
With the appointment of Noor Zetteler (under insolvency number S.16/26/10), a crucial period begins for the organisation. The administrator is tasked with reviewing the financial housekeeping and determining whether the 'turnaround' initiated last year can still be completed, or whether a sale or relaunch is necessary.

The group is struggling with the aftermath of the complex integration of outlet platform Naduvi and a necessary but costly modernisation of its IT landscape. The new management managed to improve the operational course in the second half of 2025, but time and liquidity requirements ultimately proved to be the biggest opponents.

Supplier uncertainty
For the many interior brands and suppliers that sell their products via the platforms of fonQ and Naduvi, this formal move brings additional uncertainty. fonQ is considered one of the most important online shop windows in the Dutch mid-market segment. Although the online shops appear to remain online for the time being, much depends on the agreements the administrator makes with logistics partners and creditors in the coming days.

Race against the clock
The words of co-founder Patrick Kerssemakers in December last year, that it was going to be a "race against the clock" for fonQ, now turn out to be a prescient one. The administrator's focus will now be on preserving the value of the fonQ and Naduvi brands, which still enjoy a strong position and high brand awareness among Dutch consumers despite the financial malaise.
