Artisan has introduced the Nila Lounge collection, a new seating family developed in collaboration with Regular Company and Neisako Studio, combining solid wood craftsmanship with advanced upholstery engineering.
The collection builds on the original Nila chair, reinterpreting the classic upholstered armchair typology through a balance of structural clarity and soft, contemporary detailing. Regular Company, a long-time collaborator of the Bosnian manufacturer, contributed its deep understanding of Artisan's material language, while Neisako Studio focused on the technical development of upholstery systems.

Upholstery as structure
A defining feature of the Nila Lounge collection is the integration of upholstery into the construction itself. Rather than being applied as a surface layer, the padding is engineered as a structural component, with carefully calibrated foam densities and internal support systems to deliver ergonomic comfort without adding visual weight.
"The upholstered body is conceived as part of the structure," the designers explain, emphasising the interplay between softness and framework.
Material dialogue and craftsmanship
The collection combines solid wood, leather, metal and upholstery into a unified system. Artisan's expertise in woodworking is evident in the refined frame and distinctive almond-shaped armrests, which create a recognisable silhouette while maintaining a sense of lightness.
Details such as a woven leather base provide both reinforcement and visual depth, while subtly curved metal elements add strength and definition to the overall form.
The standout piece is a chaise lounge, where an orthogonal base supports a more organic, flowing volume, highlighting the contrast between geometry and softness that defines the collection.
