Portuguese brand Formati has launched its debut furniture collection, introducing a refined design language grounded in quiet luxury, material authenticity and architectural clarity.

Produced in Portugal, the collection reflects a balance between advanced manufacturing and artisanal craftsmanship, emphasising noble materials such as solid wood and marble. The brand describes its approach as one where design "reveals itself over time," favouring subtle elegance over statement aesthetics.

The debut collection comprises six key pieces:

  • Lombardi dining table: a sculptural design combining a solid wood top with a monolithic Volakas marble base
  • Williams chair: a refined seating piece defined by clean geometry and material versatility
  • Watanabe coffee table: a multifunctional design inspired by Japanese minimalism, doubling as a bench
  • Watson sofa: a modular system with 47 elements, designed for flexibility across different spatial layouts
  • Welle bed: a composition focused on proportion and materiality, elevating the bedroom environment

Bernal nightstand: a detail-driven piece completing the bedroom setting
Central to the collection is the concept of "quiet luxury", an aesthetic centred on durability, proportion and material depth rather than ornamentation. Each piece is delivered with a signed quality certificate, reinforcing the brand's emphasis on craftsmanship and traceability.

With its debut, Formati seeks to establish a distinct Portuguese voice in the global design landscape, combining heritage, technical expertise and a contemporary design sensibility.
